-What does hunger look like in U.S. public schools?
-How does student hunger impact student achievement and learning?
-Can educators and school professionals effectively implement curriculum in the face of student hunger?

About Alicia and Kelli
Alicia Lowen is a five year veteran teacher of Washington State public schools. Her teaching experiences have provided her the opportunity to teach in ethnically and culturally diverse schools and districts in-which students are from low-income families and rely on their public school to provide them daily nutrition through free and/or reduced cost breakfast and lunch programs. She can attest to the fact that full tummies equal greater learning in her students. Alicia resides in Seattle, WA with her daughter and husband and is a graduate student in Seattle University's College of Education Curriculum and Instruction program.
